Description Garrison Cap, cotton linen, white with blue trim. Ink, red, stamped on both sides. One side shows "WISCONSIN/ AMERICA'S DAIRYLAND". Other side shows "IT'S MILWAUKEE/ IN 1941" and American Legion insignia which is a five pointed star with U.S. inside, around star is a wreath, and around wreath is red ring with white "AMERICAN LEGION".
History Matthias James Lynaugh was a private in the 1st Wisconsin Infantry Regiment, Company G. The guard was federalized into the 32nd Infantry Division and his unit became the 127th infantry Regiment. He fought and was wounded in WWI. When he returned from the war he became very active in Veterans organizations.
