History Colonel Nancy L. Caldwell, originally of Monroe, Wisconsin, served in the United States Air Force as a Registered Nurse from 1963-1993. She was stationed at various bases throughout the United States as well as in Greenland (1973), England (1976-1979) and Japan (1981) before being reassigned as Command Nurse, Office of the Command Surgeon, Headquarters United States Air Forces in Europe at Ramstein Air Base in Germany in 1990. Her three years at Ramstein were spent in support of Operation Desert Storm, where her duties included performing aeromedical evacuations and assisting in the deployment of contingency and expansion hospitals as well as aeromedical staging facilities throughout Europe. She retired after thirty years of service October, 1993.
