|Description||Assorted photographs and a certificate pertaining to the service of Troy J. Jenson, an Appleton, Wisconsin, resident who served in the Army Air Forces as a gunner on a B-25 Mitchell in the European Theater during World War II. The collection is comprised almost entirely of photographs associated with his service, of which most are not identified. Photographs of Jenson include images of him posing in uniform by himself and posing with fellow airmen. One image taken in England shows Jenson holding a dog, which was likely the mascot of his unit. The collection also includes a large number of images of servicemen, including some regular Army and Navy personnel, with some of the airmen having been identified and likely Jenson's air crew from Europe. Of interest are a series of images of aerial photographs taken from inside a bomber in flight. Most of the images are of B-29 Superfortress bombers in formation, with an additional image of a P-51 Mustang in flight. Also included are a few images of bomber crews during flight and posing as a group in front of their bombers. Several images of family members and a few images of Jenson as a young adult are also included. The certificate in the collection is from Jenson's successful training in flexible gunnery while stationed at Las Vegas Army Airfield in 1945.|
