Discharge records pertaining to Dane County veterans of World War I. The records list each soldiers name, rank and unit, where they were born, their age at enlistment, qualifications, engagements, any wounds received, physical description when discharged, and character. Many of the records also have notes on pay, transportation issued, medals received, and some are altered and noted with a different branch of service or to indicate furlough. These records were part of the Dane County Register of Deeds and date from March 1919 to September 1924. They were originally in two volumes and ordered by the date and time of when they were received by the register. They were reordered alphabetically for genealogical and accessibility purposes.
