|Description||Photographs, certificates, and personal military papers related to the World War II service of Perrin, a West Bend, Wis. native, who served with the Navy as a chief gunners mate in the Pacific Ocean. The collection includes honorable discharge certificates and separation papers. There is also a sketch of Perrin drawn by a fellow sailor, a letter from the Japanese Embassy inquiring about Japanese teeth Perrin collected at Guadalcanal, and a 1940 edition of The Bluejackets' Manual which includes inscriptions from soldiers and sailors whom Perrin met while in service. A certificate commemorating Perrin's crossing of the equator and signatures of people he served with is also found. Photographs show James Perrin in uniform and several casual photos taken in the South Pacific. There is also a photo of Perrin and his wife Olga and a photo of Olga and her sons James R. Jr. and Richard Perrin, Richard is wearing a child's sailor uniform.|
