|Description||Papers and photographs of Earl E. Stone, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy who rose to the rank of Rear Admiral while participating in both World Wars and the Korean War. This collection is scattered and does not contain materials directly related to wartime service. Included are the U.S. Naval Academy report cards of Stone, a Milwaukee native. Also in the collection are newspaper clippings and biographical information which tend to focus on his promotion to Rear Admiral and his appointment as superintendent at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. There are three pieces of correspondence, all involving Stone or his sister Estelle. Photographs include several shots of the U.S. battleships Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin taken while they were sailing through the Panama Canal in 1915. There are also several shots of Stone including one taken upon his entry into the Naval Academy.|
