Tintype of an unidentified individual who served with Company K, 15th Wisconsin Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. The tintype shows a seated older individual wearing the state issued five button sack coat and holding a Dresden-Belgian rifled musket. The 15th Wisconsin was nicknamed the "Scandinavian Regiment," due to the large number of Scandinavian immigrants who served in the unit. The tintype is in a wooden case and has a broken clasp.

|History||The 15th Wisconsin Infantry Regiment was also known as the "Scandinavian Regiment" due to the fact that the vast majority of soldiers in it were of Scandinavian origin. The unit was also led by Hans Christian Heg, who was killed during the Battle of Chickamauga.|
