Certificate of service pertaining to Margaret J. Spellman, a Prentice, Wisconsin, resident who served as a nurse at U.S. General Hospital 14 during World War I. Spellman worked as a nurse prior to the war, and was called into active service in September 1918. The certificate was issued by the assistant adjutant general in 1954 specifying that she had been in active service, since Spellman was just released from service in 1919 and not officially discharged. Spellman moved to Waukesha, Wisconsin sometime after the war and is buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
