|Description||Photographs of George A. Durgin of Monroe, Wisconsin, who served with Company H, 1st Wisconsin Infantry Regiment during the Spanish American War. In one photograph, Durgin is posing in front of a tent while wearing his military uniform. Two other photographs show Durgin posing with other soldiers while in uniform and holding rifles. Durgin enlisted as a private in 1898 and was assigned Camp Cuba Libre near Jacksonville, Florida. Durgin spent much of his time absent from the unit because of illness before mustering out of service in November 1898. After his service, Durgin returned to Monroe.|
