|Description||Tintype of an unidentified soldier of the 2nd Wisconsin Infantry Regiment, taken sometime during the Civil War. The image shows the soldier standing in uniform, wearing the famous hat of the Iron Brigade, and holding a rifle. The image was also taken outside and another solider's knee is seen in the bottom right corner. Blue tint has been applied to the soldier's pants, along with rose tint to his cheeks and gold tint to the uniform buttons. The tintype is dated between April and September 1863, due to the fact that the 2nd Wisconsin was not issued the corps badge seen on the hat until late April 1863, and the unit was no longer carrying the Austrian Lorenz rifle (seen in the image) after September 1863.|
