Description Captioned photographs of Ebon Phillips, who served aboard the USS Des Moines during World War I. The candid shots include images of the ship itself, its crew members, and scenes of Archangel (Russia), including a view of the Victory Arch following the armistice. Other photographs show water scenes on the White Sea, the body of water on which Archangel is situated, as well as two scenes in which the Des Moines is frozen in ice.
